caring team

The Smile Team would like to introduce two new additions to our friendly and caring professional team. Bianca and Claire both have a Bachelor of Oral Health university degrees. Oral Health Therapists are supported by the ADA and the Dental Practice Board of Victoria to provide modern dental care, forming an important part of a modern dental team.
Bianca and Claire will work with Drs Brad and Julie to further increase the level of Childrens Dental Care and general Preventive Dental Care to the highest standards in Melbourne.

After weighing up the pros and cons, Money Magazine quoted The Smile Team in summarising "a blanced diet, brushing more thoroughly and flossing daily will make a bigger differece to minimising decay and gum disease than changing to a power toothbrush alone"

the smile team hosts pink ribbon
breakfast fundraiser

Balloons filled the rooms and team members were dressed in pink as The Smile Team dental practice was turned pink for a day. Delicious home made scones were freshly baked by enthusiastic team members as very special treats supporting a very worthy cause.
The goal of the day was to create an especially happy and positive dental visit for everyone, and in the process help to increase awareness for the Pink Ribbon foundation and their excellent ongoing efforts to find a cure for Breast Cancer.
We would like to thank everyone for making The Smile Team's first Pink Ribbon day such a memorable and fun filled day.

Following on from the installation of a brand new Sirona sterilizer and the introduction of Schick digital x-rays in 2009, The Smile Team is pleased to offer patients treatment in brand new Finnish designed and made Planmeca dental chairs. These chairs join our two existing Planmeca chairs in providing viscoelastic ultra upholstery that adapts perfectly to follow the patient’s anatomy for maximum comfort.
But it's just a chair right? Much more than just a seat, dental chairs have key motors, attachments, and customisation of speed and toque to facilitate modern dental procedures to high technical standards. New modern dental chairs are very important in ensuring the highest sterilisation protocols can be obtained. One simple example is the presence of a clean unidirectional flow of water through the tiny tubing of the handpieces in these new chairs to ensure that the used water of one patient cannot re-enter the tubing and contaminate the water of the next patient. These chairs also enable us to share with you what we can see with an intra-oral camera when required, as well as to provide DVD entertainment for longer procedures.

Following on from the fantastic and successful Pink Ribbon day in 2008, The Smile Team dental practice was again coloured pink for a day as team members were dressed in Pink Ribbon Foundation T-shirts, and Pink Ribbon balloons filled the rooms.
A plentiful supply of delicious scones and cakes were baked in the morning by enthusiastic team members and served to patients throughout the day as a very special treat. Team members demonstrated their budding Masterchef skills by decorating their baked treats creatively to the Pink theme of the day.
By all accounts, it made for an especially fun filled and positive visit for all patients.
All in an effort to help support the Pink Ribbon Foundation towards increasing the awareness of their excellent work and for the ongoing fight for Cancer research.
